This prompt didn't allow much freedom of creation. I completed this project following the instructions but decided to render differently.
This project taught me how to build using surfaces as well and rebuilding a surface. Rebuilding the duck body allows you to add control points which allow modification of the body shape. This assignment also taught me how to blend 2 different surfaces to create one seamless object. The final skill introduced in this exercise was rendering. The duck assignment teaches you basic skills to shape object organically as well as render them.
Something I could have improved on with this project was the use of control points. With the use of only 8 control points on the duck sacrifices of precision were made.
Something I will do differently in the future is the use of more control points. The rubber ducky activity used only a few control points to modify the shapes. Adding more control points will allow for more detailed and precise adjustments.
I am most pleased that this project allowed us to use control points freely form the shapes for our duck instead of only using the predetermined shapes rhino offers. These control points can also be used on curves and surfaces for future projects as well.
